Harden is also a stage actress and performs in the Broadway show "Angels in America" as well as "God of Carnage". Marcia Gay Harden was born in San Diego, California on 14 August 1959. Her parents were Beverly the housewife and Thad, an officer in the US Navy. She is also the mother of three siblings and an older brother. Her father was a diplomat and the family moved frequently. They lived in various countries across the globe including Germany, Japan, Greece and Germany. Harden attended Surrattsville High School, Clinton after settling down in Maryland. In 1980, she attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a bachelor's degree in the field of theater. Harden was accepted into NYU's Tisch School of the Arts 1988 in order for her MFA.
