Cook is a Canadian actress best known for her roles in the film features The Virgin Suicides (1999) and Final Destination 2 (2003) and also for her performance in the role of Jennifer 'JJ' Jareau in the tv drama show Criminal Minds. Cook's television credits include Dead Like Me (also known as Tru Calling), Higher Ground, Bluemoon and PSI Factor. Cook was brought up in Whitby, Ontario, by her parents Sandra and Mike, both school teachers. Cook was raised by the rest of her siblings: Angela Nathan Paul and Angela Nathan Paul. She was brought up as a Mormon as well as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The ballet, tap, and jazz classes when she was a child. She was a participant in numerous dancing competitions, but it wasn't until she reached 17 years of age when she began to consider acting. Dirty Dancing, starring Patrick Swayze was the catalyst for Cook to take up acting. Cook was married to boyfriend Nathan Andersen in August 2001. The couple got to know Nathan Andersen at Utah Valley University which is where she attended a class on film. Mekhai Allan Andersen is the family's child. Born in the month of September 2008.
