Jacqueline Fernandez

Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress and former model predominantly active with the Indian film industry. She is also the winner from the 2006 Miss Sri Lanka Universe pageant. Hailing from a multiracial family that includes Canadian, Sri Lankan, and Malaysian descent, Fernandez spent the early period of her life living in Bahrain. Following her mass communications degree at the University of Sydney, she spent time as a reporter in Sri Lanka as a television reporter for many years before getting into the model industry. In the wake of representing Sri Lanka at Miss Universe 2006, she gained a reputation as one of the best fashion models from Sri Lanka. The role of Jasmine in Sujoy Ghosh's 'Aladin' on her 2009 tour through India. In 2011, she was cast in the character of Priya in the role of the female lead in "Murder 2". The film received commercial and critical hit, leading to a thriving profession for Fernandez. In the years since, she has appeared in films like Housefull 2 & 3, "Race 2", "Definition Of Fear" as well as Judwaa 2. In addition, she is the brand ambassador for a variety of international brands.
